AUDI & VOLKSWAGEN SERVICE

BEMW will service your Audi or Volkswagen to manufacturer’s specifications without voiding your new car warranty.

Most Audi & VWs are serviced every 15,000kms or 12 months. Here at BEMW we prefer to see cars have their oil changed every 10,000kms, or at least once a year.

Manufacturers continue to extend the intervals recommended for oil changes, however we continue to see an increase in cars with long-term engine damage as a result. So while we recognise the expertise of the brand’s engineers, we also recognise that there’s a marketing benefit to claiming longer service intervals – and this can be at odds with what the vehicle actually requires. A basic oil and filter change, conducted in between scheduled services, can make a significant long-term difference to your vehicle.

Of course, you might expect us to recommend this – but you can see how widespread the problems of Audi & VW engine sludge are here. You’ll probably also recognise that life seems to get busier as time goes on, and consequently people tend to fall behind with getting the car serviced on time. Consequently 10,000km service intervals become 12,000 to 13,000km or more. So while we don’t suggest it’s mandatory to change your Audi or VW oil more often than what the manufacturer recommends, we do advise that 15,000km oil change intervals is right at the maximum advisable limit. It’s in the best interests of your engine – and the resale value of your car – for you to try and stick to the schedule or be slightly ahead.
